Reflective Supervision:
Unlocking Wellbeing and Performance

Working in education is complex, intense and emotionally demanding. Without structured space to reflect, school staff risk becoming overwhelmed, reactive, or isolated. Research shows that reflective practice supports emotional resilience, improves decision-making, and reduces the risk of burnout in school leadership.

At HumanEdge Performance, we offer confidential, evidence-based reflective supervision for school staff. Reflective supervision is not just a wellbeing intervention; it is a developmental one. It supports individual growth, strengthens team dynamics, and can be extended across the wider staff group to help create a healthier, more connected school culture.

The Impact:

  • Greater confidence to make clear, considered decisions even in high-pressure situations

  • Stronger trust and collaboration across staff teams

  • Increased clarity and resilience, reducing emotional overload and the risk of burnout

  • Practical habits that protect wellbeing while supporting long-term effectiveness

How It Works:

Reflective Supervision is delivered as either one-to-one sessions (60 minutes) or small group sessions for up to four staff (75 minutes). Packages are available at £360 for individuals or £600 for groups, covering a block of six sessions — with best practice being 6–9 sessions spread across the academic year. Sessions can be delivered face-to-face or online.

"Working with Karen in supervision has been genuinely transformative. She has an exceptional ability to create a safe, reflective space where complex challenges feel manageable and new perspectives can emerge. Her guidance has helped me navigate my own difficulties with clarity and confidence, often leading me to solutions I hadn’t recognised before. I’ve also noticed a clear positive impact on the staff I support—our conversations in supervision have translated into stronger decisions, more thoughtful practice, and a calmer, more grounded team. Karen’s skill, insight and compassion make supervision not only valuable, but something I look forward to. I’m incredibly grateful for the difference she has made."- Stacey Postle, Headteacher
